日本とフィリピンの国交正常化70周年を記念して、世界的に有名なコーラスグループ「フィリピン・マドリガル・シンガーズ」の日本ツアーが開催されました。
To celebrate 70 years of friendship between Japan and the Philippines, the world-famous chorus group, the Philippine Madrigal Singers, went on a tour in Japan.

宮崎市での公演（7月22日）に合わせて、市内に暮らすフィリピンのみなさんとそのご家族が集まり、ささやかに交流会を行いました。
Around their show in Miyazaki City on July 22nd, local Filipinos and their families got together for a small event.

まずは開演前のリハーサルを見学し、その後、私たちもステージへ。
宮崎市に30年以上住んでいるグラディスさんが代表として挨拶し、市内に住むフィリピンのみなさんの想いをメッセージとして伝えました。すると、マドリガル・シンガーズのみなさんからお返しとして、素晴らしい歌声のプレゼント（1曲）をいただきました。
First, we watched the rehearsal before the show, and then we went up on stage.
Gladys, who has lived in Miyazaki City for over 30 years, gave a brief speech representing us and shared how local Filipinos feel.
In return, the Madrigal Singers gave us a wonderful gift—they sang a song for us!

コンサート本番では、フィリピンの音楽をはじめ、ディズニー映画の曲などのポピュラー音楽、そして日本の歌まで、幅広く披露されました。マイクを使わない美しい生声がホールいっぱいに響き渡り、アンコール最後の「上を向いて歩こう」では、歌い出しと同時に会場から大きな拍手が湧き起こりました。
美しい響きに包まれ、あっという間に過ぎた心温まる2時間となりました。

During the concert, they performed a wide variety of songs—from Filipino music and popular Disney tunes to well-known Japanese songs.
Their beautiful natural voices filled the hall without using any microphones.
For the final encore, as soon as they started singing “Sukiyaki” (Ue o Muite Arukou), the whole room burst into applause.
It was a heartwarming two hours filled with incredible music, and time just flew by.
