今年も宮崎市は、姉妹都市・韓国報恩郡へ中学生10人を派遣しました。
当事業は、旧高岡町との姉妹都市交流から始まり、30年以上続いています。
交流事業は7月29日から8月2日の5日間で、学生たちはホームビジットやスポーツ交流を通じて、勉強した韓国語や英語、スマホの翻訳アプリを使いながら積極的にコミュニケーションを取りました。
This year, 10 middle school students visited our sister city, Boeun County in Korea.
This exchange started over 30 years ago with Takaoka Town, and we’ve kept it going ever since!
During their 5-day trip from July 29 to August 2, the students did home visits and played sports together. They actively used Korean, English, and translation apps on their phones to talk to each other!
初日は、宮崎からアシアナ航空でソウルへ行き、一般財団法人自治体国際化協会(Clair)を訪問し、宮崎県から派遣中のスタッフから現在の韓国、ソウルについて講義を受けました。
2日目は、ソウルの国会議事堂を訪問し、日本人留学生も多数在籍するサンミョン大学で日本語を学ぶ韓国人大学生と韓国と日本の文化、流行についてプレゼンテーションを見て、話して、交流をしました。その後景福宮を見て、仁寺洞の散策をしました。
On the first day, we flew from Miyazaki to Seoul on Asiana Airlines. We visited the CLAIR Seoul office, and a staff member from Miyazaki gave us a talk about Seoul and life in Korea today.
On the second day, we visited the National Assembly building. After that, we went to Sangmyung University, where many Japanese students study. We hung out with Korean college students learning Japanese, watched presentations about Korean and Japanese culture and trends, and had fun chatting together. Then, we checked out Gyeongbokgung Palace and took a stroll around Insadong!
3日目は、報恩郡に移動して、韓国の羊羹作りを体験して、歓迎会で郡守からプレゼントをいただき、中学生との夕食会を楽しみました。
4日目は、報恩郡の中学生の家族とホームビジットを体験し、午後からは、ボルダリングやピックルボールなどスポーツを通じた交流を行いました。
On the third day, we moved to Boeun County and tried making traditional Korean sweet red bean jelly (Yanggaeng). We had a welcome party where the county governor gave us presents, and then enjoyed dinner with local middle school students!
On the fourth day, our students got to experience home visits with middle school families in Boeun. In the afternoon, everyone had a great time playing sports together, like bouldering and pickleball!
コミュニケーションを取るためにいろいろ工夫をしつつ、最後は若さと勢いで乗り切って仲良くなっています。秋には報恩郡から10人の中学生が宮崎に交流に来てくれます。
We do our best to connect, and somehow our young energy just brings us together! This autumn, 10 middle schoolers from Boeun-gun will visit Miyazaki to hang out with us.
10代で家族と同行しない海外体験は、新鮮で刺激的で、言葉も通じず、自分で何とかしないといけない、このような経験することによってマインドが強くなり、将来の方向性に少し影響を与えるかもしれません。宮崎市在住の中学生はチャレンジしてみませんか？
Going abroad in your teens without your family is exciting and fresh. Even if you can’t speak the language, taking care of yourself builds a strong mindset and might even shape your future. If you’re a middle school student in Miyazaki City, why not give it a try?
